1. Parties and Scope

These terms of use govern the usage of the CarbonTrex carbon accounting and GHG reporting platform (hereinafter "Platform") operated by Opsida Teknoloji. By using the Platform, you agree to these terms.

2. Service Description

CarbonTrex is a SaaS (Software as a Service) platform offering the following services:

  • Greenhouse gas emission calculation compliant with ISO 14064-1 and GHG Protocol standards
  • Scope 1, 2 and 3 emission reporting
  • Automatic matching with IPCC/DEFRA emission factor databases
  • Uncertainty analysis
  • Verification-ready report generation (PDF format)
  • Audit trail and calculation detail reporting

3. User Obligations

3.1 Data Accuracy

All data you enter into the Platform (energy consumption, fuel quantities, process data, supply chain information, etc.) must be accurate, complete and up-to-date. CarbonTrex is not responsible for the accuracy of the data entered. Calculation results are only as reliable as the quality of the input data.

3.2 Evidence Documents

You warrant that all invoices, certificates and other evidence documents uploaded to the Platform are genuine and valid. Uploading fraudulent or misleading documents may result in account suspension.

3.3 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You are responsible for all activities conducted through your account. You must notify us immediately if you detect any unauthorized access.

4. Reports and Liability

4.1 Report Nature

Reports generated by CarbonTrex are calculation results based on the data entered and international emission factors. These reports are produced in a "verification-ready" format but do not constitute verified reports by a verification body. Final verification must be performed by an independent verification body.

4.2 Emission Factors

The Platform uses emission factors from IPCC EFDB, DEFRA/BEIS and national databases. These factors are updated annually by their source organizations. CarbonTrex identifies the source and version of emission factors in each report, however the source organizations bear ultimate responsibility for factor accuracy.

4.3 Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

CarbonTrex is a calculation and reporting tool. The accuracy of reports, calculations and analyses produced by the Platform depends on the data entered. The responsibility for entering accurate and complete data lies with the user.

CarbonTrex does not guarantee the outcomes of generated reports in any audit, verification or regulatory process. The Platform shall not be held liable for direct or indirect damages arising from reporting errors, regulatory sanctions or third-party claims. Users should independently verify their reports before official submissions.

5. Intellectual Property

  • The CarbonTrex platform, its algorithms, interface and brand elements are the intellectual property of Opsida Teknoloji.
  • Data you enter and documents you upload to the Platform remain your property.
  • You may use Platform-generated reports for your own corporate needs.
  • Copying, distributing or reverse engineering the Platform content, calculation methodology or report formats is prohibited.

6. Service Level

  • CarbonTrex targets 99.5% uptime (excluding planned maintenance).
  • Planned maintenance is announced at least 48 hours in advance.
  • Your data is backed up daily.
  • Critical issues targeted to receive response within 4 hours on business days.

7. Pricing

Platform usage fees are determined based on the selected plan and scope of use. Pricing changes are communicated at least 30 days in advance. Services may be restricted or suspended in case of unpaid invoices.

8. Account Cancellation and Data Export

  • You may cancel your account at any time.
  • You can export your data within 30 days after cancellation.
  • Reports in the archive are retained for the duration of legal retention periods.
  • After the 30-day period, your personal data is deleted or anonymized in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

9. Prohibited Uses

The following uses are strictly prohibited:

  • Entry of false or misleading environmental data (for greenwashing purposes)
  • Attempts to compromise Platform security
  • Unauthorized access to other users' data
  • Overloading Platform infrastructure
  • Altering reports in a manner that constitutes fraud

10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey. Istanbul Courts and Enforcement Offices have jurisdiction over disputes.

11. Changes

These terms of use may be updated. Significant changes are communicated at least 30 days in advance via email. Your continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
